My name is James Southwood. I call myself Rawfighter because I compete internationally in French boxing and because I thrive on a diet of raw foods. It became clear to me that there were very few resources for people wanting to investigate raw foods from an athletic perspective and even fewer that did not divert into mysticism, so I decided to create a website devoted to clear thinking on the subject.
This site is a collection of my writing on raw living and how to make the connection between sporting accomplishment, self-understanding and health.
To begin with, I recommend reading some of the smaller articles at the top left. The longer articles under 'Raw thinking' expand on the themes and you will need to be prepared to spend a while on them. (It is a good idea to bookmark the site and come back to them). If you are interested in recipes, I have posted several under 'Food'. Lastly, I like to hear feedback and questions - contact me with your ideas or comments.

Sprouting
It is of particular benefit to the raw foodist to learn how to sprout foods. Sprouting refers to the practice of germinating seeds until they have reached the first stages of growth and eating them in that state. Sprouted foods are a great way to get loads of nutrition from a compact and cheaply available source.
Introduction
I frequently advocate using intuition as a guide when it comes to health choices. Intuition, as I explain in this article, is the inner, instinctive sense and it is the development of which I spend most of my time on this site trying to forge. In order to rest my other assertions on a solid foundation, here I will be elaborating on what constitutes this healthy intuition and why we should trust it.
According to the title, I am going to be talking to you today about ‘Raw Power’. Anyone speaking under such a banner has to be careful not to run into overstatement. The ‘power’ we will be considering does not come directly from raw foods, or from foods at all; it is personal and internal and can be brought to the fore if we take pains to develop it. Accordingly I will be careful to restrict any claims to what raw foods can do, not what they will do or are guaranteed to do.
